Season Opening – September 30, 2018
James Yeager, our AGO District Convener and Director of Music at First Presbyterian Church in Albuquerque, was our host for the opening event of the 2018-2019 season, at First Presbyterian Church, Albuquerque, on Sunday, September 30.
We began at 3:00 PM with a Progressive Member Recital—there are two organs at FPC! Members performing were: Edmund Connolly, Scott Hagler, Fred Frahm, Nancy Granert, James Yeager, Karen Parsons, and Douglas Parsons, and they played an impressive variety of music, from Buxtehude (1637-1707) to modern compositions from living composers, including one of our own members, composer and organist Fred Frahm. There were more than 55 members and friends in attendance.
Following the recital, we had a reception and music sale, including organ music, choral music, and books about organs or choirs. (Click on first picture and scroll through to see pictures full-size, or listen to the video.)
